What makes a community? At SHÉLA’s launch, queer women from seven countries came together through music, humour, stories and honest conversations. The launch showed us that storytelling can create belonging, and that meaningful community can begin with a single conversation.

SHÉLA began not as strategy, but as longing: for a space that felt grounding, connected, and honest enough to hold real people. “We Are Still Building...” is a reflection on belonging, loneliness, storytelling, and what it means to build community across borders.
